Admission Requirements
Admission requirements include a bachelor’s of science degree in the
appropriate engineering specialty or related field, from an ABET-accredited
program or equivalent.
Transfer Credits
Up to nine hours of graduate credit may be submitted for transfer into master's
programs.
Thesis Program
Many students wish to emphasize an area of personal professional interest as
part of their graduate program. Often the most efficient way of doing this is
to organize this inquiry in the form of thesis research. Thesis students
normally take 24 credits of course work and six credits of thesis research. All
graduate credits, to be used toward a degree, must have been earned within the
six years prior to graduation. Students should discuss thesis topics with
faculty members early in their programs.
Non-Thesis Option
The non-thesis option requires a minimum of 30 hours of course work within a
six year limit.
Dual Master's Program
Graduate students already holding or completing a master’s of science degree
can obtain a second master’s degree in engineering by completing any necessary
prerequisites and an additional 24 hours of graduate work.
Application Dates
Applications should be submitted by the following dates:
• Fall Semester: July 1
• Winter Semester: Dec. 1
• Summer Semester: May 1 Efforts will be made to accommodate students submitting
applications after the above dates.
